From the Mr. chairman's welcome speech, to the lightening of the Torch by Abuad's fastest athlete "Itsekiri", to the thrilling dance moves by the Abuad Mascot, to the presentation of Nigerian's sensational Olympic medalist, Mary Onyali, to the unveiling of the participating teams via the parade, to the entertaining performances by the various dance groups $ performing Acts it was all Totally voltage...Electrocuting, if that would be the right phrase.
The first event of the tournament was the football match between host & football Defending Champions Abuad and Al-Hilkman University, Ilorin.
The match ended 3 v Nil in favor of the host, with goals from Onukak (2) and Tochukwu Okafor.
The opening basketball game was also between host & Basketball defending champions Abuad and Bells University which also ended in favor of the host.
Abuad also won her opening matches in Badminton, volleyball, Basketball female, table tennis amongst many more !.
